This has been discussed in other threads - but I think some of the non-TNT folks are in the dark... here's the deal:

1) We're driving down to New Braunfels on Friday night - the 9th of July
2) We're camping out at the KL Ranch. I've reserved campsite number 40 and there are currently 6-ish folks from here/TNT going (plus a bunch of other people we're meeting up with on Sat that are System-f's friends). If anyone from SWXC wants to go (please do!!!), let us know 'cause we may have to get another campsite or something)
3) We're packing up Sat. morning and going down the road to the Rockin' R Ranch to meet up with System's friends - we'll park there and tube through Rockin R (you rent a tube from them - they drive you upriver and drop you off - you start toobin' - and then when you get back where you started, you get out wink
4) When we're finished tubing Sat afternoon/early evening, we're driving up to Austin where we've reserved a few hotel rooms together. The plan is to hit 6th street etc.
5) I assume that we'll all just split up and go home sometime Sunday

Cost, you ask?
1) The campsite is $40 - which covers 2 people. Any extra people are $14 each (Camping/campsite rental is a 2 day minimum - so we're paying for Sat night even tho we won't be there... but if someone wasn't interested in Austin, they could stay)
2) It's $5 per Nissan (no other vehicles allowed wink ) at Rockin' R to park
3) I think it's $13 to rent a tube and get dropped off - we'll end up renting extra tubes for the coolers wink laugh
4) The hotel rooms are $60 each (they're supposed to be $45 but somehow there is a $15 fee/surcharge of some kind.. RiPofF!!) - I'm getting my own 'cause Becky will be coming down - but others are packing 'em in to save on cost.

That's it!

EDIT: The original plan was to completely leave the KL and everybody go to Rockin' R - but since we found out that we have to pay for 2 nights anyway, we'll probably stuff as many folks as possible in as few vehicles as possible to avoid the extra parking fees.

EDIT EDIT: Though kids are welcome (the campsites don't allow dogs), I think several of us plan on drinking heavily - so keep that in mind laugh )

Just a quickie. No not that kind. wink I am assuming that we are making our own reservations for campsites. Is that a safe assumption? What is the phone number so that I can make a reservation for us to camp and drink heavily. Hey Jason are you going?

Well - with the tally of people going so far, I think the one campsite will do... if the numbers increase a lot we may need more - but because of their stupid 2 night minimum, a campsite ends up costing $40...

Cool - maybe we can give you a call when we hit the Round Rock area and you can hook up with us for the rest of the trip down.

Scott - any chance of you coming on this one? You've been silent frown

Im going toobing with a bunch of friends tomorrow. It would be great to come with yall, but I'll be in Pennsylvania working.

What do yall think about this article? Is there any chance the river will be at its "no toobing" level when the group plans on going?

Chronicle article about the river

There is a chance.... right now (Wednesday), the river is flowing at 5000cfm - anything over about 800 is dangerous... but they generally try to slow it down for the weekends.

We're going down there regardless - if they haven't slowed it down then I guess we'll just get drunk and throw stuff in the river laugh

It's a 2 part trip anyway - since we're going up to Austin to party on Sat night... so unless they're closing 6th street it will still be worth the trip.

Hey - I know a store in Austin that sells banjos laugh [LOL] anyone wanna come?

Oh yeah and plans have changed a bit.

We are still camping at KL ranch, two camp sites now. But we are tubing with KL ranch since our camp site is at the end of the river. We won't have to pay additional for parking, and will get on the river at about 9am - 9:30am and stop at Rockin R to meet the others ..

my cell is 817 235 9909 and work at the campsite

uh oh.... are you already starting to tell when I repeat? I'm afraid that's all I've got for the time being (takes too damn long to learn new stuff). I've been playing some James Taylor on the guitar lately but it's too much crap to bring both the guitar AND the banjo

I have to bow out of toobing this weekend. I am getting my new tires on Saturday. I will be in New Braunfels and I will try and come by for a cold one if you don't mind.

Camp site information

Kl Ranch Camp
5300 River Road
New Braunfels, Texas 78132

my phone number 817 235 9909. I have Danny and Roger's cells I believe. Before ANYONE pays for any camp sites come talk to either me or Glen. Each site is $20 and that includes 2 people per site, after that it should be $14 a head.
