Well, I just called Xterraparts who in turn called Calmini to check on my bumper... It sounds like it will be the end of November or into December before it comes in... very unlikely to be in for Barnwell... which was what I really wanted it for.

The Xterraparts website says *Available November 2003 - so a few weeks ago when I was deciding to do this, I called Calmini and talked to Chris. He said that they were readily available - that he thought they were out of stock at that particular time - but that they would be making more the next week.

So I figured that 3.5 weeks would be way more than enough time to get one.

I guess what I'm really pissed about is that they don't really seem to care much about my $700 order... if they had looked into it when I placed the order and given me an estimated ship date I would have been more prepared for it.

That really sucks... unfortunately, that seems to be the norm for anything ordered for our trucks... sometimes everything works out great, but usually... it sucks... Not sure of price differences or anything, but why couldn't you just cancel the Xterraparts order and just go through Calmini? Why use Xterraparts in the beginning?

Unless Xterraparts delayed placing my order, it's Calmini that's slow... so though I'm slightly annoyed at Xterraparts for not giving me an upfront date estimate, going direct wouldn't change the delivery date.

The reason I went through them is that I pay the same price from either place - but if I get it from Xterraparts I can go pick it up at their place (Courtesy Nissan, Plano - about 5 mins down the road) when it arrives and not pay a dime in shipping (and I have it in writing!). I assume I'll have to pay sales tax this way - which I might have been able to avoid going direct - but the tax is significantly less than shipping on an item like this.

I'm a very impatient gotta-have-it-now kinda guy and this is severely bumming me out.

Man, this disappoints me greatly. I had planned on getting some stuff like this from XterraParts so I could save on shipping... but maybe not now... I guess on smaller, Official Nissan parts, they're quick to ship, but on aftermarket things they're not? I ordered some 4x4 sticker from there Saturday, they shipped them Monday, got them Tuesday, and that goes for a few other Nissan accessories. Was hoping that they'd get the new ARB's in so I could buy from them and pick it up. frown

Well, like I said in my second post (after calming down a little) - the communication from Xterraparts sucked - but it's the manufacturer (Calmini) that seems to be the slow poke... so I'm more down on Calmini than on Xterraparts.

i called them saturday to see if they had any calmini shacles or aal's in stock and they didnt either. so i'm wondering if i should order them at the dealership and pay tax and drive 45 minutes to pick them up or just order them from calmini and pay shipping.
