SouthernX: Florida has a lot higher gas taxes, though.

We were floored when we came down for Spring Rally. We filled up at home for $1.83 or $1.89 (early March) and found the cheapest in Florida at $2.09. Of course, when we got back home, the cheapest in Alabama was $1.95.

I never gripe about my X's gas mileage, but I've had a couple of well-thinking people suggest that I buy an economy car to drive for longer distances. OK, let's look at that option:

Now: Truck payments: $0 (paid for)
Truck insurance: $90/month
Gas expenditure: $120/month
Total: $210/month

With Car: Car payments: $150/month
Truck and car insurance: $140/month
Gas expenditure: $60/month
Total: $350

Someone remind me where $350 a month is cheaper than $210 a month. :rolleyes:
