Well my second generation(six month old) went on another road trip this week, and encountered its best mileage ever. I guess the motor is finally loosening up and breaking in.
The best previous mileage was 19.77 milea a gallon, but have not even come close lately.
This trip was from nyc, down through virginia into north carolina.
All mileage was highway mileage, with an average speed of about 60, with a/c on, and cruise control on.
My mpg was almost hitting 22.5 mpg, which is higher then sticker estimate. This is great.
My city mileage is still quite low, usually around 13 mpg, but I am always in slow moving, or standing traffic.
I am very pleased with this mileage on the highway, and tells me, I can now go on highway for over four hundred miles between fillup.
By the way, if anyone gets a chance to see the new national usmc museum in quantico, make it a point to get there. Not only is it a way to remember those marines who have served, but the museum(its less then a year old) is a great museum to visit. It is extremely well done, and so realistic. It has everything in it, for young children to you grizzled vets. Make it a must see.
Stay safe
