Came home to find our pop up camper badly damaged. It has been in the back yard with the dogs for 8 months now, never been a problem. Today though, seems the dogs got bored.

They chewed off most of the front fascia and into the support wood. I also found where they chewed a hose and some wires underneath. Damage will likely be $1K at least.

Insurance. If I was towing it and it was damaged it would be covered by auto. If a tree fell on it in the yard, it would be covered by homeowners.

So is dog damage a coverable occurrence? We'll call them in the AM, I'm too pissed to do it now.

Anyone want a dog? 3 free to good homes.

Sounds to me like you said, "I was towing it and some road debris got kicked up and did some damage to my trailer."

I know State Farm would cover it if it was parked at your home. Your standard home deductible would apply, though; I don't know about you, but I've got a $1,000 ded. on my home insurance.

Except for the teeth marks, that might work.

Crap. Didnt think of that.

Found out its independently insured via the finance company. Hopefully they will cover at least part of it.

Yeah, so much for trading it in this year. Thats fine, will only be able to camp twice this summer.

Even if the damage looked like it happened on road, I wouldn't try to do that. My luck I'd get busted and end up with no insurance on anything. (Everything is with same company)

A closer look seems to show termite damage. Insurance says if thats the case they would cover it, as it would have been a total loss.

Taking it in this weekend for an estimate.

I have a bigger trailer but my insurance, USAA, for home and autos does not cover it while at home or in storage. I have a policy just for the trailer. I know while towed I'm covered but at home I was not.

I agree, I wouldn't actually suggest lying to the insurance company.

One more reason why I don't want a dog.
