He got a stern "fuck off" and the door slammed in his face.

I had another guy (again trying to sell a security system - what is it with those guys?) stick his foot in my door when I opened it so I couldn't close it. Very intrusive.

Pet peeve of mine, I guess, but I can't stand door to door salesmen.

Edit - or mormon/jehovah's witness missionaries, but at least they're trying to advance something they care about. I know a guy who uses a couple of mormon kids as free labor for home improvement projects - and he has no intention of converting... laugh
I always answer the front door (when I'm not expecting anyone) with a gun in my right hand (the door conceals it)...anyone sticks their foot in my doorway gets told they are trespassing and calmly asked to leave. Haven't had to show the gun yet, but hey it's there.[/b]
And if you do show them the gun then it's assault, which is illegal even on your own property. If the person can describe the gun to the Police and says you pointed it at them, could end up in trouble![/b]
It's not assault unless you actually point it at someone or threaten someone with it. If you open your door with a gun in hand, you are completely in your right to do so. Hell you could have been cleaning it when the doorbell rang and didn't want to leave it on the table for the kids to get at for all anyone knows.
