Here we go again

Want to save some real money? Eat at home instead of a restaurant. Or better still, cook something instead of some pre-processed crap. Not only will it be cheaper, it will be much healthier for you.

Why do Americans focus obsessively on gas prices?

Good point, Doc. It's always so easy to get caught up in these gas price threads. I have to occasionally remind my wife that driving 12 miles to the bargain-priced station instead of 1 mile to the one around the block (which is usually only 3 to 5 cents per gallon more expensive) is not a bargain.

Docno,

The problem is, many people (including my wife and I) already did everything we could to save money in all the other things we buy. Then when gas prices shoot up, it really hurts the wallet.

By the way, the cheapest gas around here is still $2.70 a gallon. frown

Exactly. I get so tired of the sniveling about gas prices. [Crybaby]

Not eating out and actually cooking is a fabulous way to save money. Other great ways to save money: cancel cable television subscriptions and do something outdoors (or ... gasp ... read a book), use the library instead of buying books or paying for internet service at home, don't buy $3.00 coffee drinks (make your own at home or work), don't go out to the movie theater, blah, blah, blah ....
