For a single malt with a great "bang for your buck" factor, I don't think Glenlivet's 12 year old can be beat. At my wedding I had ~12 different brands of Scotch from 6 regions in Scotland (it's a family thing) and nearly everyone liked the Glenlivet the most, even though it was about half as much as some of the other stuff.
