i went to school to be a drafter too. got my first job as an internship working at the airport. i was a drafter there for 2.5 years working on airplanes doing mechanical and electrical drafting. i left there to work for my dad. i was a civil drafter(land development) for about a year and back in jan., they put me out in the field on the survey crew. i love the outdoors, so its a great job and i really enjoy it. but last week, dad told me i was going to be getting laid off within the next 2 weeks, so im back looking for another job. when i was younger, i wanted to work construction. my very first job was running a skid loader loading mulch on the weekends. i was hooked. now im looking for a job in excavation where i can get training on the job since i really dont have much experience. one day, id like to own my own excavation business, so with the civil design, the surveying, and hopefully the excavation training and onsite experience, im working in the right direction to make my dream come true. all i need to do now is hit the lotto and get my CDL's.
