I agree with Ian and Suspect2. I do however feel for you. If I bought a green X I would want paint it too. A good paint job starts at around $3500.00 if the only prep work they do is masking and DA sanding. A color change will easily tack on another $1000.00 or more. The only way I'd ever do a complete color change is if I could afford a paint job like my Fater in law just put on his 72 chevelle. After color was laid down it was wet sanded with 2000 grit and then clear that I believe was also wet sanded and final finish work consisted of hours of hand buffing to a 10 foot deep looking shine.
