Hey all,
Searched for this and to no avail.
Has anyone taken off their wind dam, and if so did anyone have problems. It would be nice to see the sky during the day and night so if there is any problems with this please le me know.
Thanks.

I took mine off this summer no problems with taking it off or putting it back on.

It did seam to make the noise levell inside the truck increase.

If you take it off, put o-rings on and grease the bolts that hold the airdam on also do the same for the bolts that hold the basket.

This will ensure the bolts do not sieze up.

I took mine off during the summer. The view was nice as was being able to take out the moonroof. However, I have the Thor Mod now and I get the best of both worlds: plenty of sun and lessened road noise.

I took mine off today because I cleaned it. It was dirty under there. I like it because I have the sunroof. I don't have problem with noise. Seems to drive smoother too. I will put the fairing back on before I go home for Turkey day because I have rope and a shovel in the basket. Scott

Thanks for the feedback, good thinking on the o-rings and grease. We take a drive around Mt. Hood every Turkey Day and having the extra view will be nice. smile

1 to 1.5 inch number 6 metric stainless bolts with allen heads with a rubber washer really clean up the lines when the fairing (sp?) is off. And you don't have to look at those factory bolts sticking up.

FYI - I know there is a strip of clear paint protector along the front of the deflector, but I'm finding scratched paint from gunk that builds up behind/under the front of the deflector too.

Might be a real good idea to lift the front of the thing and flush it when washing the truck. Could end up saving the clearcoat up there!

Same here - for winter at least - the fairing is off. I like it better, don't know if I'll put it back on or not. No difference in wind noise, etc... just looks cooler from the inside, but less X from the outside. I still think the Lexan mod may make noise... don't know...
