Ok for the finish? I always use the ones at Mobil that are touch free, high pressure water only.

also, how often for you wax? Mine seems like it has a good coat right now but i might get another before the salt hits the road

Wax... [Huh?] confused

OK seriously once a year will keep it in good condition. Twice a year for excellent results. And clay bars do work magic.

To the best of my knowledge/experience, the touchless washes seem the best. I'm not a fan of using the foaming brushes or having the big sponge things in an automatic touch my paint. I've seen it scratch other vehicles I've owned.

As far as how often to wax, I make sure to do it at least twice a year...usually 3-4 times(if I can find a heated garage in the winter). As mentioned above, clay works wonders. I actually will be claying / waxing tonight. It(clay) does a great job of getting off those pesky surface contaminates.

very nice studly. [drink]

Mine's in as good of shape.spotless for a 03 w/ 35k miles. plan to keep care of mine. washed it Sunday and was tempted to mess it up agian that day but it would be taking a chance since i'm in the big city w/o trails to have fun (the parks are so tempting)

How i wish we could move to the country to have mile and miles of trails to use. For now it's dirty puddles and trips to WI for the fun

PS

Anyone in the appleton/freemont WI area w/ a place to get dirty let me know. spend alot of time up there. going up the weekend of the 14th.

I use mud in place of claybar and rain inplace if wax.

My X has been half ass waxed once. When it was all done it looked good for one day and then all the scratches came back out.

I give it a quick once over with the hose after it's been in nasty mud (mostly to clean out the alt and radiator).

Ditto. I really don't remember when was the last time I actually washed her.

Maybe I should to keep her happier, though. laugh

I swear I tried the same "touchless" 3 times. Worked fine the 1st. The 2nd time it hit my spare tire and stopped. I figured I broke it so just left. Months later I tried again and it hit the spare again.

I got in line for a different (more expensive)drive through awhile ago and the owner flagged me off said i could not go through frown

I keep my truck pretty clean for a truck but just do it at home wink
