hey guys,
I've been loking for a 1st gen to accent the 2nd gen in the driveway.
I found one close
it's a 2002 Nissan Xterra 4x4 V6-S/C
it looks stock.previous owner looks like they removed the mud flaps & tin can steps.
there is 3 holes in the actual lower side or back panel.
anyway what type of stuff should I look for during inspection?Hope to take it to dealer for checkout.
these are hard to find in FL & want to move fairly fast.
it has 50000 on it & body looks good.
After posting here I'm going to join CarFax to look there.
with the supercharger do I have to use
hi-octane93 ?
what do you think?
All opinions are very appreciated & needed!

Yes, the supercharger requires high octane fuel.

Look for coolant leaks (particularly from the front of the engine which may be coming from the head gaskets), cracks in the exhaust manifolds, and especially look for an oil leak around the rear main seal. My RMS leaks a little, but not enough to justify the $1000 repair bill.

If the carfax comes back saying no accidents, don't necessarily trust it, I have been in two accidents and neither was reported on a carfax report. Look for any signs that it could have been in an accident, check for uneven tire wear.

I have the SC version and I love it. I have clocked almost 50,000 miles and it has been a great vehicle. Except for the gas mileage. laugh

I wouldn't get the s/c version since I hear there's problems galore with it.

given I drove an 02 S/C way back when, and I loved it.
