this is my fist time to change the brake pads on a xterra and i tried to tackle it today and got stuck at the dust brake shield. need help asap thank you

Why would you need to mess with the shield?

Quickie version: Remove wheel, remove lower slider pin bolt, swing caliper up/open around the other slider pin, remove old pads, push pistons back in to make room for new pads, insert new pads, swing caliper closed again, replace lower pin, replace wheel.

i did what you said on the front brakes but the back ones have the dust brake shield and i cant get around them. i need help changing the brakes on the rear. need help getting around the dus brake shield.
