Joisey has about 8 million people. California has over 35 million. The population of California dwarfs every other state. Statistically it's far more likely that any story about "PC wacko bullshit," as you put it, is going to happen in California.
Does California have it's problems? Sure. You think Joisey is perfect? Well, let's just say I'm glad it's you who lives there and not me.
