I ran across this last night and am interested. Should I buy it? Anything I should look for? I read on the service/repair forum others talking about an issue with rust and a manifold gasket leak, any advise on spotting those problems, or other things I should look for.

Any suggestions on price?

Thanks!

Check your link Pete, it just shows us search parameters and not the actual vehicle you are talking about.

I think this is it (I looked before he edited his post but didn't have time to reply): http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=172470761

Is that it? If it is, I can tell you without a doubt that is the best year/color/model combo you can find anywhere - the only problem is the auto. wink

Anyway, seems like an ok price considering the mileage - it is $1000 less than bluebook - but you may be able to get it for a bit less.

One minor thing worth looking at is the steel under the back passenger seat - there is a braket mounted to the frame underneath that in some cases can get pushed up thru the steel. If it has done this, it should be pretty obvious, check for a small crack about 3-4" from the door and a couple of inches in front of the seat back. It's not a hard fix, but it can make for an annoying squeak. I ended up modifying the bracket and welding the crack, but if you point it out they could fix it for you.

That's it! smile

I had the hardest time with the autobytel link working, it worked on my Mac with Safari (must have been cached), but then tried it on another computer and it didn't. Why can't they just simplify the URL. Swapped it out for the one pnwbeers posted. Perfect.

Thanks for the comments! Other comments, now that we have a working link?

Sounds like a decent buy. I bought my 02 XE 4x4 for 14,700 with 40K on the odometer just 2 months ago.

Buy it
Modify it
Wheel it
Love it
Get a new one
