Take another look at that pic. It also threw me off until I saw the video. His front is pointing up not becasue he's sunk, but becasue he's in the middle of a jump. The 4Runner in the background is probably a good 10 feet below from where the photographer was standing. Like I said, at first it totally looked burried to me too.
