So explain to me how he would get through that mud pit without having momentum? Frickin' geniuses... You HAVE to have momentum to get through crap like that, or you may as well not even try it. Yeah, it's a shame he hit a rut that bounced him over against the tree. But it really wasn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. I'm assuming all of you that are calling him a dumbarse are the same kind of people that would think a roll-over means game over, too. Odds are even w/o hitting the tree he wouldn't have had enough momentum to get through that mud pit. But I give 'em kudos for trying. You never know what you can do if you're always standing on the side talking smack, or acting like you know everything. To all you gods of offroading, here, ![[Save the fine unicorns]](graemlins/stfu.gif) and drive for once.

Man - that ARB bumper just paid for itself.
It's amazing how little damage he has for what he did.
I'm not going to comment on his noob-ness or whether or not I think he's a dumbass... I'll just say that this sort of thing is why I avoid mud whenever possible. If you HAVE to go through something like that, I'd prefer to take it slow, get stuck, and then winch through it.

I'm by no means a hard core offroader, but here's the same guy taking a mudhole (prior to his "front end adjustment") at a pretty good speed: web page Was excessive speed really necessary in that case? I'm asking, not trying to start a pissing match. It just looks to me like he went faster than he needed to, and he's abusing his steering system pretty good in that video. For reference, a guy with a Jeep taking the same hole, about half that speed, so it can be taken slower: web page 2

You live, you learn, you wheel some more.. You aren't going to learn how to wheel without breaking stuff and finding the limits of your rig.

Simple he does not have the equipment to do it. So he did something stupid. :p And after watching the second vid well he could just be having fun. Or once again to much skinny pedal. I am no wheeling GOD and no matter what you are always learning. But I can sure pick out stupidity when I see it. And just to clarify even if he was driving a Nissan Xterra bone stock or modded I would still call him a dumbass. ![[Finger]](graemlins/thefinger.gif)

Watched this about 10 times and kept going back the impact. I learned 2 things. 1. ) The horn works great and 2.) Trees don't move. You can't blame this guy for going balls out. Was it stupid after what happened...yes, but had he missed the tree he would have been fine. He was just going too fast, jumped out of the rut, and hit the tree. And you have to give him credit for keeping his foot on the gas to continue to try to get through the mud hole. While we are on the topics of FJ's, anybody know of maybe a special edition one? There is one by my house with different wheels, it is all black including the roof, and has a different bumper and hella's on it. So either this guy put some money into a brand new vehicle right away, or is this factory?

It is a special edition and pretty hard to come by. I think it looks great. The bumper and extra lights are aftermarket however.

i don't hate FJ's and I feel sorry for the guy, but you cant help but laugh at that horn going off the precise second the truck collided with the tree, I assumed it was a body part that hit the steering wheel. (even people laugh in the background)
looking at the other videos, no one could have predicted that the truck would have flown (maybe)...guy looks like he obviously was trying to plow through the mud top speed
