I hate to sound like an ass, but I hate it when people buy tires or anything because "they look better!" Both those tires are great, but the A/T seems far better suited to your use. M/T's are really only good for, well, mud. The A/T will run circles around it in terms of onroad ride comfort, traction, handling, etc.; especially in the rain, plus it's better in snow and possibly better on dry trails.

But, if you want worse gas mileage, worse ride, shorter tire life, and reduced handling/braking, then go ahead and get the M/T.
