Brake Bolt BROKE!!!

Ok, so I have a friend replacing my brake pads and the bold that holds them on broke. He tells me I need to go to Nissan and get the bolt and they should give it to me b/c it's not supposed to break. What do I do? I can't drive my X!!!

Ok so when I get to Nissan do you think they will have it in stock? I'm super worried about it. And do you know if it is expensive?

dealer isnt going to give that or any part free because "it aint supposed to break" i dont know where your buddy got his info from.
i cant imagine the part being that much, also i dont think you can get to even talk to the parts guy at the dealer till after monday (labor day holiday). the dealer may be open, but i seriously doubt the service and parts area will be open. try autozone, or even an ace hardware, bring the bolt with you so the can match size and pitch for the thread.

Not supposed to Break? If you try hard enough, ANYTHING will break. Luckily I had the smarts enough to STOP trying to tighten mine down before it snapped... All I did was stretch the bolt out a bit. ![[Freak]](graemlins/freak.gif)

Ok so I have been through hell and back on this one. It is the pin that holds the brake pads on. I went to the Nissan dealership and they ordered the wrong part. I gave them my vin to order the right part and the man said that he couldn't just order the pin, I would have to order the entire brake caliper (which is rediculous). I took the pin to Napa and they couldn't match it up with ANYTHING they had. I think now my only hope is to find one in a junk yard. :-( I miss my X.

it sounds to me like your buddy who broke it should be doing all the foot work, not you. he should probably even pay for the part that he broke.
