how do you bend the leaf springs down enough to get the bottom of the shackle on????

you dont. lift the truck by its frame. the perch should go up and the leaf should go down.

I hope if he's got a shackle off, he already is lifting by the frame.

Added: I ran into the same thing putting 3"Calmini Shackles on with stock shocks. The travel of the shock was too short to let the spring pack come down.

You'll get it, just keep trying.

I stacked blocks of wood against the frame, then took a pry bar and bent the leafs down, then slipped in the shackle pin....whalla....I did have a helper though.

figured it out.............used the stock scissor jack b/w the frame and leaf to bend it down........
thought i was walking to work tommorrow..

I've seen people get VERY creative when trying to get leaf packs to line up right

I got so creative I broke my finger trying to work on my YJ leafs. Bastard thing released and hit me. I am usually super paranoid careful too.
