It's pretty easy to install. Just don't pull off the wax paper until you're ready to actually stick it to the metal, 'cause it's REALLY sticky. There are plenty of "dynamat application guides" on the internet.

Never used it, but I have heard of it. I'm not sure if it would work as nice as D'mat, but it couldn't hurt. I just think it would be VERY messy. D'mat will hold up to the foot traffic just fine. Getting into every little cranny might be easier with the liner, depending on application, but I'm not sure if that gains you much. Inversly, a little bit of D'mat goes a LONG way.
