Sup ya'll...

A buddy of mine gave me his 400W AC/DC inverter ('cause he upgraded his to an 800W)...
My question is this... Since I've got TWO 400W AC/DC inverters now, would they
be able to run both simultaniously? I've got one running in the back already and now
I'm considering placing the one my friend gave me in the front of the X... Something in
the lines of installing it within the bottom half of the dashboard (side panel near the
passengers leg area). I've seen this done before from a previous post... But can't
seem to locate it witht he search function...

But my main concern would be if both were running "things" at the same time, would
my alternator fry or make my battery explode or something else (whether or not my
engine is running)... Any advice, comments, and concerns would be appreciated...

Depends..

Are you going to draw 400 watts from both of them continuously? If yes then you would be drawing about umm 67Amps @ 12 volts.. If you're not running a heavy stereo system or tons of lights you'll be fine.. Just don't keep it on too long with the engine off.

If anyone sees a mistake please correct me before he fries his alternator and blames me .

I can't imagine ever running them both at full power (52" projection TV?), but if you did you would discharge your battery even with the engine running. The 67 amp figure posted above is about right. Your alternator won't fry, it just won't keep up.

Thanks fellas... I won't be running anything heavy... On the back, I've got my PS2 and
sometimes VCR running at the same time... If, and when, I install the second 400W
inverter in the front, it'll be used for stuff like laptops or a camcorder charger (things
of that nature)... I can't foresee using them both at their peak levels at the
time... Now I need to do a search for hooking this bad-boy up... Thanks again for
