I am not really tech savy, so excuse me.
I am looking into getting a head unit that is able to play MP3 burned on CDs. Any advice?

I am looking at the Kenwood KDC-X859. And I was going to go with the Rio Riot to hook that up to the Aux cable to it. I really like the idea that the Riot you have a portable player and be able to hook that up to the head unit.

My real qustion is on the programs to upload my CD to my computer and convert them to MP3. What program do you recomend or are using? And also a program to burn them onto CDs. And what program to use to manage all the songs uploaded onto the computer?

I just bought the Rio600 player it came with a program (rio Audio manager) but after playing around with it for a while it won't let me upload the hit tracks from the Cd and ask me to buy an unlock code form them. What is this?

I have Easy CD Creator 5, MusicMatch Jukebox
7.2(trial ver) and Winamp. Anything else that need or you guys can recomend?

I got a Pioneer DEH-P7400MP deck. Very satisfied - lots of settings, great quality, removable face, remote. However one downside - takes about 5 seconds for a song to start. I heard Alpine models take about 2 seconds..

Great choice on the MP3 decks, but keep the couple second delay in mind.

Oh for comparison - my deck cost me $300 (cost is $220)

My personal preference for ripping MP3 files - Cakewalk Pyro.

Exact Audio Copy with Lame to encode to mp3 has been the best I have used so far. Great quality.

If you're running XP, then you can use Windows media player to rip. Works pretty well and is free. It rips them as WMAs, but the Kenwwod receiver will read them the same. Or you can "buy" a program that will allow you to rip them as mp3s, retail cost is $9, so theat ain't bad.

Ditto that on Exact Audio Copy. Not flashy, but I have found it to be better than most other rippers out there. You can download it pre- configured with LAME here:
