What I'm wondering is what the red wires are? The gold and blue are obviosly speaker lines and the blue appears to be good quality wire. But what are the red wires for? I sure hope those aren't power supply wires!

What really, really disturbs me is the lack of thought and pure carelessness that is obvious here. It appears that this shop made no effort to follow any form and pretty much just tossed the wires in. And the strapping tape used to hold them in place is just plain old pathetic. So, my thought is that if they are careless enough to run that wire that way in that spot, what does the rest of it look like? I can just imagine that wire rubbing there between the seat bottom and the sharp edge of the fuel sending unit cover...yikes!!!
Yes! Those are power cables. Power cables running with speaker wire and then crossing RCA cables. How wonderfull. They even refused to add dynamat stating 'ohh, you don't need that anyways! No one does that!' The pictures are the proof of their work.

When I went in wednesday the installer proceeds to tell me that I have tampered with the RCA cables and I had framed him to make him look bad with his boss. Can you belive this shit? He starts telling me "TALK STRAIGHT. STOP TELLING LIES." Good lord. These people are going straight to hell.

You know how sometimes someone says something so preposterous you just don't even bother rebutting because you know it would be a good waste of time.   <--kind of like that. Some of the things they stated were just weird. Accusing me of touching things etc. That is on the brink of psychosis don't you think?

I know I may seem to be going overboard but I don't really think you can understand how psycho these people are unless you actually visited or see all the wiring they put in my X -how everything was put together. [Sleep]

THANK YOU GUYS FOR ALL YOUR HELP SO FAR. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO WITHOUT THIS WEBSITE!! smile

Hmmm, OK. If the reds are power then they are way, way too small AND are following the same path as your speaker wires. That is bad.

Document everything; even your conversations here. You should write a letter to the BBB if you haven't already too, and let these people know you are serious. There's no excuse for such shoddy work.

Also, it looks as if they ran 2 small power wires? No distribution block or are they just charging you for amp wires and using scrap? That is a pretty sorry shop. Tel them to uninstall everything and give you back your money. I wouldn't want them workign on my truck especially if they are accusing you of lying.

"Whenever I accelerate there is a horrible whining noise. It is there at idle too..I just gets higher pitched with acceleration."

MAke sure the ground to the amp is less than 15" and is grounded good. Turn the gais on the amp down a bit, and if that doesnt work get a better amp or put an inline noise filter in with the power. Also make sure the shop ran the power and rca cable opposite of each other.
