Curious where others have mounted CB radios or GMRS units. Overhead? Thanks.

Go to the search engine and search for CB and or CB placement. Or CB console or any combination thereof.

I have mine placed temporarily between the center console and the passanger side seat with the mic snaked up to the center console. The wire runs under the passanger seat under the rug and up through the trunk.

Its just nested in between the seat and console

I have my HAM radio mounted exactly like Jens. The passenger has plenty of room for it there and it is easy to read. Its also easy to get to the passage in the firewall. The little cubby under the ash tray (2001) is also a great place for my mic.

Thanks for the feedback. I know that I can search and do on this site. I also like the most current information or ideas. And I like to chat with others about stuff, so I post too when the search engine doesn't do it for me. The people that keep saying to search are basically saying that there are no new ideas and all the answers are already written down. I don't believe that.

Check out a Cobra 75 and mount it anywhere. Use an existing screw for the mic holder. I love it and it was a snap and saves space too. Buy a second coupler and move it between vehicles.

I installed my CB the way tcp/ip did his ham radio. The first link is to his web page with some very good instructions for getting the dash apart (with pictures) on a 2002 and newer. I ran the antenna wire to the back, tucked under the interior molding, and through one of the tail light grommets then up to the roof. The antenna setup on the roof looks like the setup Kerensky97 did. (second link). I like the way it turned out.

I have a Garmin Street Pilot III Navigation System that fit in the center console under the radio, I ran a remote antenna to the back window, looks like it came from the factory.

wow i have my cb not only in the same location as SuperJens, but I think it is the same CB.

My CB is under the passenger seat (along with my inverter and an add'l 12v outlet)

I mounted it to a board, then put an L bracket that fits inside the front seat bracket to keep it in and an eyelet in the back for a zip tie,
