Sirius antenna installation

I wanted to know how any of you installed the antenna for Sirius. I have a Kenwood CX-SR40 and my husband is going to run it through the back hatch. Any better ideas so I don't have a cord running off the top of my X?

I have the Sirius system; the magnetic part of the antenna is 6-8" from the rear hatch with the 3M tape from the hatch to the magnet. I cut a slit in the rubber gasket and put the wire thru it, then put a piece of black electrical tape over the slit. Run the wire under the black gasket along the roof line, down to the floor under the plastic moulding. Then under the plastic moulding to the door sill (rear), go under the sill, then under drivers seat to radio area. I held the wire with small plastic wire clips up to the radio. They are available at any Radio Shack. Not only does it look good, but it sounds great. Good luck!

Thanks for the feed back! Very much appreciated! Excited to get this installed and going as I am sick of mainstream radio! Paul, the only problem I have with the way you did and I am doing this is that your X is black (and so is the wire) and mine is white!! It will stick out like a sore thumb so I guess I will have to cover it up with tape. But then who cares if the tunes are good!!

If done right, you won't see the wire at all. I'll try to post a picture of my install later.

I appologize in advance for the quality... Camera phone, bad light, shaky hand From the back: From the top, kinda... As you can see the bare wire isn't visible, the cowling they provide keeps it covered until it can be hidden by the hatch.

Ok, that isn't bad at all! I was imagining wires hanging down from the top and it looking ghetto! Thank you for taking the time to do that!

No, not ghetto at all. In fact, you really don't notice it's there unless you're looking for it.
One problem I did have though, is when i punched a hole through the weather stripping, I found that I had a small leak where a couple drops of water could get through when I pressure washed the truck. A bit of silicone sealant took care of this problem.

A lot. I don't listen to FM at all anymore. I've had it for several long trips, and it's great to be able to hold a station all the way there, and when you're 600 miles from home to have the same stations you're used to available.
There's some very good music stations for about every taste, and the talk and sports available is excellent. You definately won't be sorry.
