Has anyone mounted these speakers yet? it seems that the Polk eX2560's are a little bit smaller than the mouting bracket already in there. Any information would be greaty appreciated.

Thanks

Yeah, the stock speakers are 6 3/4 not 6 1/2. But the black ring that the speakers are mounted to is soft plastic. Just drill a couple tiny holes in the ring where the new speakers are going to go and voila!

Thanks Eric,

I was thinking of doing that, just wasn't sure if the plastic would break under the weight of the speakers. I was also thinking of removing the bracket and mounting the speakers directly to the metal on the door, any thoughts on that?

You could probably mount them directly to the metal, but there is no need. The plastic insn't brittle so I don't think it will break. I have Polk DX6s and I have them mounted that way and I have for about 5 months and they're still rock solid. Also, there's a better chance of the speakers getting wet with water in the door if you don't use the rings because they will mount much further into the door.

Woo Hoo...got them mounted, right on the old bracket. That and my new CD receiver sound awsome. I installed the Alpine CDA-7875. Its a kick ass CD player (Just have to figure out all the funtions on it. Next project, amp and subwoofers. Thanks for all the info, it really helped out.
