I just wrapped the wire around the blade fuse and pushed the fuse back in the fuse box.

It's not hard at all to remove the rear panels. Just pop off a clips and pull the panel to remove. You can tap off the back of the deck but to me it's much more of a hassle to remove the panel around the stereo and then remove the stereo and then tap into the wires and then install everything back. All in all, it's up to what you feel more comfortable doing.
