Hi everybody. This is my first post on the XOC web forum. I've been searching the threads to see if anyone has dealt with the alpine type-s 6x9's and components in the front. I want to put the Alpine SPS-171A components in the front and the SPS-690A in the back. The crutchfield website says that they won't fit but it say's that about a lot of stuff I have seen you guys install. I don't want major surjury but I am willing to some minor stuff like spacers. I also want to put the Panasonic CQ-C8400U in place of the factory H/U but crutchfield says it won't fit but says that other single din sizes will. I don't know what's different about that particular unit but if anyone has used it let me know.....
Here's some links to what I mentioned above...

Alpine Components at Crutchfield

Alpine 6x9 at Crutchfield

Panasonic 8400 H/U

Please send me recommendations on what you have liked or what you think I should do. confused
Thanks.

I have those exact speakers in my 04X the fit just fine. No mods to panels. They sound great I might add.

That head unit will work no problem with a dash kit. And those components will work no problem too. I've never done rear speakers in an X, but the 6x9's should also work well.

That should be a pretty clean setup man. Only thing I'd suggest is replacing that panasonic with an alpine, trust me, you'd be much happier.

Thanks for the quick replies. I think I'll consider just going ahead with an Alpine H/U. I have read that that sound improvement is noticeable.

If you don't want to shell out the extra money just for the name alpine, you can pick up Kenwood eXcelon head units for very resonable prices online. Personally, I think Alpine makes a good product, but is overpriced. (here come the flamers....take a number guys....it's just my opinion). Either way, both blow Panasonic H/U's away.

my 2 cents....

To those of you throwing in your 2 cents on this one, i was looking into a set up like this one, but looking at this H/U , would this be a good one and will it work with the Nissan dash kit and all, thanks.

spend 50 more and go with the 9827, you wont regret it, esp for mp3/wma playback
