i just bought a new head unit--50w X 4. After install the speakers sound like they are blown out. Actually its only the 6.5 components. They are infinity. so i ordered new speakers--infinity kappa. My question---y would the osund be staticky, on loud volume? can it be the wiring? or is it the speakers?

KK, definitly check the wiring, make sure that the antennae is plugged in correctly and that all grounds are connected properly. Good luck and keep us posted.

Most likely the speakers are no good. They could be damaged. Usually you get that static sound when speakers are blown.

It also could be the head unit. But I doubt it since you said you are only getting at the rear speakers. Try changing the speakers. If you still get the static noise I would start looking at the head unit.

Well actually, the 6.5 components are the door speakers. Static may not be so easy to hear from the rears as they are anemic at best. Before dropping a wad on replacements I would check to make sure that all conections, including the crossovers, are correct.

Yeah, I saw that but figured that checking the simple things made more sense. You should learn to utilize the Preview Post option so that your quotes come out correctly.

Why don't you resort to deleting my posts like you usually do?

If you rpelaced the stock deck and amp, the crossover for the 6.5 and tweet is most likely in the RF amp. Just my 2 pennies.
