Just thought I'd let anyone who's interested know that building a sub box with the sub facing the floor will work out just fine in the X. I've had it going for a little over a month now and it's great. A single JL Audio 10" 10W6 is all it takes to make the X rock.
Here is a quick pic of the set-up

Here is a link to how I did it

Now that's a neat, clean install, and it doesn't compromise the durability of the cargo area like side-firing subs.

Nice work!

Where did you get the carpet and so on to put over the box? And did you make the box yourself or get a premade one?
thanks

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
That is probably the best install I've seen, besides that Xterreo thing, Awesome job!!
How long did that whole install take?
What company did you buy the aluminum dash kit from, because it looks alot better than the ones that are shown on ebay.

Why do you have the sub facing the floor? I am not to familiar with car audio set up. Why not have it facing up? Like I see most people.

The carpet is actually trunk liner carpet. It is a little thick to work with but it matched the colour and texture pretty well. I bought it at a local hardware store called Canadian Tire, you should try Pep Boys or the likes.

The dash kit was put on by the dealer from a loacl aftermarket company, I'm not sure of the name or who make the kit........sorry.

I placed the sub facing the floor because I like the sound it creates rather than having it face up or outwards. Also not having the sub exposed protects it from objects and prying eyes. I'm very pleased with the results and would like to thank everyone who took the time to look over my system.
