So, while I'm waiting for the Alpine iPod interface to come out, this article appears and has a very enticing picture - if you have one of those rediculous LCD screens, it looks like the iPod interface will use it!

Now those LCD based stereo's don't look so rediculous - here's a compatible one from crutchfield.

So, anyone have any experience with these screens? How do they really look in the Xterra? the radio is kind of low and rescessed - just wondering if in the X if the screen would even be able to tilt up?

If anyone has pictures of one of these things installed I would like to see it...

also,if you look at the Kenwood KVT-915DVD it's pretty cool,you don't have to mount it out,it has a different motorized slideout for the lcd to pop up,it would clear the nissan dash no problem.

Yeah, but I'm pretty set on the Alpine. The only reason (or the main reason) I would be interested in the LCD is it greatly enhances the functionality with the iPod integration. That and it's plug and play...
