I wouldn't get anything from crutchfield... they are way overpriced.

As for installation, I've never personally installed any audio equipment in an xterra, but head units are overall pretty easy to install. Once you have the head unit, head over to circuit city/best buy, any place like that, and pick up a wiring harness and instillation kit. It should only run you about $20 and makes the installation really simple.
