For storing the computer ..

Have you upgraded to a steel-horse console yet? I just did (THANKS SCOTT!).

I pulled out the cup-holder, and there is a LOT of space under neath it. Very ample space for a single-board-computer (they aren't any bigger than a hard-drive, and it would be easy to implement cooling fans, and it's out of view, and extremely protected (can't get liquid on it, kicked, or anything).

Also, if you needed a bit more room, you could even put the computer INSIDE the console part of the console, and put a small box around it, and wouldn't even notice it.

The storage inside the steel-horse console is of Goliath proportions (sp?). It's definatly a good start, for storing the PC.

AND:

I have a question on how the GPS works in in-car computers. Do you have to get like an external GPS unit for this, and it maps everything on the PC's screen?

I have a Garmin GPS-V, but I don't think this wuld work with in-car GPS, right?

Thanks;)
