I saw a picture of someone's dash a while back. The dash had an aftermarket DIN sized head unit with a 1/2 DIN in-dash eq mounted underneath it. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fill the remaining 1/2 din of space that is left in the dash. Any installation tips are appreciated. I currently have an Alpine 7977 head unit and am looking to install a Zapco SP7-SL EQ in the dash.

You should be able to use ABS plastic and instant glue from the local hobby store. After the EQ is mounted cut the ABS to fit around it, and then glue the ABS to the dash bezel. When it is done you can use some filler to fill in the edges, sand it smooth, and then paint it black.

If you want it to look really good, you can spend a little more and also buy a crossover that is the same size. Mount them together in the extra din. This is sure to look super sweet.
