Hey guys and gals I need help with my light setup again. This time all I need a a quick connect idea for my light bar. I have it hard wired but would like to be able remove it too. A trailer connect will not hold the current. Pnut posted he found a 10 gauge one but I can't find one. I'm out of sources here.
Anyone have a suggestion beside each individual wire with a single connector. I have 4 lights on it.

Thanks...

would something like these connectors work?

I have 2 155 Watt KC daylighters up top. I used a 4 wire trailer wiring harness but I split the current between two wires each (+ & -). That way instead of about 25 Amps through a 18G wire I get about 12 Amps through it and the 18G works fine. Since you have 4 lights, a single harness may still not be enough. You might consider using 2 harnesses. Maybe one for the Positive side and one for the negative side.

The harnesses mentioned above look impressive but I don't know how well they will hold up outside, on the roof. For the ones like Pnut used try checking at an alternator supply house. That's the route I would have tried, but I already had my setup when I thought about that.

Xrugger, thanks for the post. I did not find a connector I wanted but the protective boot is something I have been looking for. I have a removable receiver winch and the connector sits open when not in use.

BennyLen, the alternator shop Idea is great I will check after work.

Thanks...

Try a hobby store, they should have good quality plugs that will handle 30-40 amps continuous for R/C car batteries. Make sure you get the good quality kind for racing, they are usually made out of silver or gold. I've been out of the R/C stuff for a while so I can't remember the who makes them but if you go to a good hobby store they should be able to find what you are looking for.

SGary, you did it. I stopped by the local hobby shop last night and those battery connectors were exectly what I was looking for. I bought an extra pair just in case.

THANKS Again and I recommend these for this or any other application.
