There's no way a big company like Nissan would intentionally design them to be off to cash in on a warranty...

They might err on the side of having the speedo reading a hair too fast (which would have the same effect) to make sure you they don't have problems with people getting caught in speed traps (i.e. you'd design it so that the vehicles that come in on the edges of "in-spec" would still not get speeding tickets) tho.
