I've been hunting these for awhile (But I want some UV ones too)... These are on the pricy side. But the MAIN difference is the extra encluse these have. This may relate to their advertising them as industructible.

Other companies sell what looks like the exact same LED for anywhere from $5 to $15 less but do not have that extra clear coating on them. That coating could also only be a diffuser.

The SuperBrightLeds.com link above has them cheaper (and UV ones). I was also looking at unique-leds.com for their motocycle accent leds... LOTS cheaper, but no listing on lumens. So you might have to buy 5 times as many to make up the difference. But they carry UV ones too... I might make a small purchase from them in a week and see how they come out.

Oh... UV leds... Good for spoting scorpions before changing that tire in the dark
