Wish I could take credit for the blackened Tuna line but ESPN ran it as a tease for the game highlights. In any case, the Saints looked terrific and took care of business Sunday night.
As a long-time Saints fan, I knew times had changed on draft day. In the old days, it would have been the Saints who passed on a Reggie Bush for a defensive lineman. In the old days, the Saints would have folded in Green Bay down 17-0 in the first quarter. In the old days, the Saints would have played not to lose instead of playing to win.
I'll be the first to admit that 8-8 seemed optimistic at the beginning of the year. What a great season.
Through the years, when people would make fun of the Saints, I'd just say, "Every dog has its day."
Maybe...just maybe...this dog's day has finally arrived. We'll see.
