I had the same problem when I first got my SLR econo A-arms installed. The rims rubbed on the upper control arm when turned all the way to one side.
A simple solution was to adjust the steering stops far enough out to prevent the rubbing.

I dont know if that will help with your situation, but give it a try.
There are four steering stops, 2 per side.
Cranky them out, and grease them up too..
