I ordered a Calmini kit myself some time back and found out very quickly that it is far from a "direct w/o hassle" bolt on application. There was one section on the OEM exhaust that was press fit so if you have a good dremel or very strong arms to wrestle it off you should have no problem from that point on. There is a recurring problem w/ their mufflers. The pipe that enter/exits the muffler can is press fit and not welded very well. After less than a year, that press fit let loose causing the pipe to rotate w/in the can. There are some other posts noting this problem w/ other owners. My best advice would be to bolt on a Flowmaster 40 series in place of your OEM muffler using the stock piping throughout. If you however wish to go w/ a larger pipe diameter, I would encourage you to look into Gibson as an option, 4x4parts.com sell them pretty regularly. Good luck w/ your choice. If I can be of any help let me know.

Here is a post with sound clips of a Magnaflow muffler installed with oem piping. These are the only exhaust sound clips that I know of on this board. (I may be wrong)

Here is a post with some discussion about the Nismo intake.

I have the Calmini exhaust installed on my S/C Xterra. The install wasn't exactly "no hassle" I had to get handy with the torch to bend the rear section slightly to keep it from making contact with the spare tire. As for the quality, the tubing is ok, but im not too fond of the slip tube fit up on the muffler it will leak slightly, and as for the quality of the muffler its a piece of stamped steel junk in my opinion. I replaced it with a Magnaflow within the first month that happened to be the same dimensions and sounds way better.
Overall if you have the Non S/C Xterra I'd Recommend the Nismo I don't think they make exhaust for the S/C currently, the quality is top notch, I think it even comes with a larger Y pipe (calmini bolts on after the Y pipe) But the price is also high. I guess you get what you pay for. As for the sound of the calmini for the short time I had it on it was slightly louder and deeper than stock without the "rice" sound.

yeah mine is s/c, what difference will the exhaust make if it is supercharged, i can see that the intake would be different. Thanks for the info guys! it is helping! Does doing intake and exhaust whack your warranty?

It's been said that they can only void the warranty if the problem was directly caused by the aftermarket part. For example if your rim cracks they can't void the warranty because you have an aftermarket exhaust.

I have the Volant cold air intake and the Gibson exhaust. Last week I took it in for the 60,000 mile check up. They found a crack in the exhaust manifold and replaced it under warranty at no charge.

Adding the new exhaust and intake will not increase your gas mileage. If it does, it might be by 1 mpg. Hardly worth the cost of the new parts. Between the two you will spend $300 - $700. That is several gallons of gas. I was one of the people that tried the experiment. I'm telling you from first hand knowledge. So don't do it for increased gas mileage. It MAY have given me more low end torque, but hey, I don't have the instruments to measure the tiny bit of power difference :-).

Same here on the mileage difference.

I did get a noticeable power bump, however (but I started w/ 170 so maybe I had more to work with than the 180 version)
