I have seen the nissan superchargers on ebay. I don't know what the instal would be like, but if you have to have one, they were running a few hundred dollars. Check out ebay.

Other than the supercharger, you will also need:

different intake manifold
tuned ECU
upgraded injectors

More than a couple of hundred dollars...

To steal Brent's thunder: wink

This topic has been discussed before on here. I don't know if anyone has succesfuly done it, but I think it will cost some major money when everything is said and done. If I were you, I would see about a trade in on an 02-04 SC, or just wait until the 05 comes out.

I have a 2000 V6 Xterra, and have recently installed a(n) Alpine supercharger on it. My other mods include: K&N Air Intake FIPK Gen II, Dual exhaust (Flowmaster 50s), Optima Red Top Battery, NGK Iridium Sparks plugs, and Nology Hot Wires. My next project is getting either headers (without taking out the cats) or cams or upgrading the ECU with a "piggyback" Unichip. If you live in the Los Angeles area this is the place I got my supercharger and they did the install as well: http://www.alpine-developments.co.za/index.html .The only mod I had to do to the X to make the Alpine supercharger fit, was to add a functional hood scoop. Alpine company specializes in Turbo and Superchargers. Hey I need suggestions on my next mod.... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please post pictures of the install. How much was it? How much boost? Horsepower/torque numbers? What octane of gas do you now use? Emissions friendly?
You know, all of the questions everyone wants to know..Specifics!!!

The site I posted is one of the distributors for Alpine Developments in the United States. Tone Monday should have all those answers as well.

Our question is finally answered - it won't fit under the stock hood!

Though it may not be practical if you have aftermarket bumpers, but you could save some money and just get a body lift to fit the super charger.

I dont' have a digital camera right now so I can't show you my Xterra. I haven't DYNO tested my truck yet, but I can feel and see the difference in acceleration since I got the supercharger along with the other mods. All my mods are emissions friendly, I know cause I've recently taken a smog test and passed. As far as my modified hood, I don't think you have to modify a 2002 and up yr models of the Xterra for the Supercharger to fit. Since my 2000 Xterra has a flatter hood that the newer 2001 and up models. I think the 2002+ models have a slightly raised hood and the installer said I just need an inch or two of clearance space. The Alpine supercharger with installation only cost me $1500. This is way below their suggested pricing ($2700) 'cause supposedly mine was their first 2000 Xterra model to have a supercharger installed.

You could get a bracket made to raise the aftermarket bumper(s) and have the benefit of both a supercharger and larger tires.

A dealer once told me to intall on a Frontier (2002) it would cost 7 grand. [Geek] [Huh?]

No thanks. Less to just buy a new car.
