Okay, this is the 4th time this has happened, after running my ex i guess it gets too warm and all my gauges stop working. Fuel stays where it was last, no RPM, no MPH and no temperature. Anyone know what might be causing this???

More information would be a good thing... Your truck runs while it is doing this right? It does it 'off and on'? Just off the top of my head, it would seem to be a loose connection in the dash, or a fuse. Pull the panel in the truck (under the steering wheel) and take a look at the fuse for the instrument panel. You might try posting in the electronics forum if the fuse thing doesn't work. You'll get far more knowledgeable people responding. I'm limited to just "keeping the evil black smoke in the wire" myself. BTW: a 2000 SE isn't all that big of a deal

Thanks for da info, BTW, why are you all about talking trash to me? I'm here for good chats with other X owners. I have a nice Xterra, AEM Intake, Poweraid throttle body spacer, and Flowmaster exhaust, and after that soon to come: in aobut 3-4 months Calmini Lift and Front and rear bumbers.

Hey sackmaster... a flowmaster muffler can be put on just about any vehicle. Welder/custom bent tubing yields a decent exhaust system. The more appropriate name would be "custom exhaust with flowmaster muffler."

XterraAdam just wants to make himself look cool by trying to talk about stuff he doesnt know. And by the way, it would not be a fuse, a fuse either works or it doesnt. There is no partial failing of a fuse, it either is blown or is good.

If not, welcome aboard Actually, doesn't sound bogus to me. Sounds like a Unified Meter board. Kind of a common failure among those vehicles equipped with them. But, it means replacing the Instrument cluster, as the board comes with it, not seperately. Unlike the old ones, when the Speedo and Tach were available seperately, now the Unified Meter is an entire unit. Hope you're still under warranty, 'cause they can get spendy. Good luck.

It's one of the downsides of a dual element fuse. When it heats up it quits But there aren't any of these in the X I've ever seen. Most common use is in industrial MCC's so the fuse most likely isn't your problem. We're just messin with ya, you gotta lighten up to post here The positive part of us posting here is that it bumps your post to the top, so someone who has had your problem before sees it. Just chill out But, I still think a TB Spacer is

Sorry, I couldn't resist poking a little fun at you...It was the whole SOL thing It almost seemed like you were asking to get f'd with. I don't mind being SOL with my POS XE Hopefully you are still under warranty and can get your truck taken care of. I've had those boards go out on GM products in the past and they do get pricey. I guess it would be under the heading of "something loose in the dash".

actually, some of the older owners may remember, there was a circuit board under the dash that would flake out the instruments, and they all seemed to be 2000 models. You might have to search for older posts for the exact fix, I only remember the basics cuz it happened to a bud... the only difference is the heat relstionship.
