I have a 06 Xterra with about 11k miles. Sometime it feels like my rear suspension bottoms out, hits way to hard. This has happened with no load under normal driving conditions. Any clues why this happens. And what I can do. Thanks love the new X.

or, if you want a nice excuse for a lift, any of the suspension lifts fix the problem too.

This is quite common with the 05 and 06. It appears that they made the rear suspension a bit light so the rear passengers would be happy, but I think it made it worse all the way around.

I had an extra leaf added to the rear suspension. It rides a lot better. My only issue is now a have a bit of a vibration between 28 and 35 mph that I need to have investigated.

I had two leaves per side added and didn't pick up a vibration.

Have you had your tires balanced lately?

The addition of extra leaves (sometimes) changes the driveline angle enough to cause some vibes...and a simple shim at the axle tube/leaf mount can correct that.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I had the spring shop de-arch the springs after the install. This kept the lift to a minimum - just over 1". Luckily, I haven't had any vibration issues yet.

I forgot to measure the distance between the tires and the body before I had the AAL added, so now I need to find a stock OR and see what the distance is. I am sure it raised at least an inch. As far as tire balancing I had no vibration before the AAL and felt it immediately after.
