Regarding locker VS gears - as someone said, it depends greatly on where you are wheeling.
Those of us in Dallas mostly go to Barnwell - an old iron ore stripmine area(I believe) with lots of loose sand/sandstone... traction sucks and picking the line that provides the most of it is the name of the game. Gears wouldn't help much - a locker would be TREMENDOUSLY helpful.
My understanding of the wheeling in Colorado/Utah where GOX and GONE are is that there are high altitude problems and steep grade problems, but TONS of traction on the slickrock - so lockers would be less helpful and gears would be more helpful.
... so... your call based on location and type of wheelin'. If you're just rednecking in a field (mudding), for instance, you don't need either!
