Hi Gang,

How many of you out there have the 3" suspension lift and have had issues with the leaf spring pack sagging over time?

My suspension has sagged so badly that I'm about back to stock ride height in the back. mad

What are the options to fix it?

Has anyone come up with a way to replace/fix the "Achilles Heal" of the rear spring hangers on the 04 and earlier Xterras? I'm always getting hung up and teatering on the stock ones. They are tuff but I feel need to be back closer to the rear wheels.

Anyone have pictures of the '05 X and the rear suspention setup?

Anyone go to spring over on their X? Benefits, Dissadvantages? What are the SAS guys doing to bring up the rear to match the front?

Here are your options as I see them.
New spring pack from Deaver. About $500.
New spring pack from SLR. $595
AAL from Calmini. $150
SLR AAL. $175
Total Chaos AAL. $190. Built by Deaver.

The Deaver stuff will get you better travel and a more progressive ride.

The history of certain 10 leaf pack sets sagging is well documented. I had one of the original 10 sets made by National Spring for SLR.

So your truck is looking like a bulldog?

I know that a few have used a couple different setups - AAL's mainly.

I ended a two year fight and got a new spring pack sent, but to offset the sagging possibility, they added a couple extra leaves. Now, I have little rear articulation, but I can probably carry about 3/4 ton of weight in the rear without ANY sag. I believe that base replacemnent pac k was from Rancho via SLR w/ fabtech adding the leaves.

There are a few that have had new spring packs made. Aerosteve has been running for awhile on a new set. I think AOR out of Grand Junction has made some.

GO BULLDOG's..........

I have the Calmini 3" kit - so shackles, shocks and AAL in the back. I am running with motor and transmission skid plates. I also occasionally trailor loads and run with heavy equipment in the back.

Has anyone had their spring pack re-arched?

Not really - I'm just back to rubbing my 32"s on the body metal on the upper wheel well - which doesn't sound good, chews up tire rubber and risks creasing my sheet metal.

X's have little cargo capacity...and I think a lot of us are over loading the suspensions...which will sag them.

The Deaver packs seem to be the way to go so far.

The Orbit Eyes look cool too.
