Just get the Firestone Lifetime Alignment, it's cheaper in the long run. $159.99 and you get free alignments for the life of the vehicle.
Btw, they're called torsion bars.

Keep in mind also, if you replace your steering system and parts fail on it, causing the wheel to stay improperly aligned, your lifetime alignement is worthless..

If you are replacing the stock bars as part of a lift...yeah, you need an alignment because the front is higher anyway... If you are JUST replacing the stock with a stronger bar, but keeping the height the same...you DON't need an alignment, as you are not changing the angles, just the spring. If you measure the wheel arches at all four corners before you change the bars, and after the install, adjust the ride height to the same points....your alignment will be unchanged.

DId an PML and was thining that since I am an little fearless that the thicker bars might be better . I am also going to replace the mounts.
So if I got this right no I dont need another alignment if I dont change the angles ?
And thanks guy about the firestone . My club had beat that in my head already the alignment isnt the breaking point. The bars itself is the question. I am sure this has been asked many times over but I didnt see any posts recent

I got the 300M T-bars from SLR, 27.5 mm, and they ride pretty nice and never broke. I did spin a t-bar anchor once though, and I think its a weak point on the X...I think raiding local junkyards for spare X t-bar anchors so you have some on hand is a good idea.

I need to upgrade my torsion bars really bad. Have so much weight on the front with the bumper and winch. I've already done the PML, had it for a while, just taking longer than I had expected to get the rest of the lift on. Oh but where is the money...? ![[Crybaby]](graemlins/crybaby.gif)

OK what make you think you need to replace the tortion bars are they bending or flexing ?
And TJ yes this is an issue. Several people in my Local club have experienced this problem on the trail. I am adding to the emergency raodside box with the compressor .

If the ride is too wishy washy, the front end sags...that's when a thicker set of t-bars looks good....All t-bars are supposed to flex, they're springs after all, but too much twist for them to handle can get stressful. The stock bars wear out over time, and need to be replaced periodically...if nothing else, that's a good time to upgrade as long as you need new bars anyway. You can tighten the old ones up several times befor running out of adjustment travel, and they can be re-indexed/tightened a few times after that to maintain ride height. Once that's all used up, you either go low rider, or spring for new springs. If you are adding off road armor, winches, etc...I'd go 20% stiffer up front on shocks, and around 27 mm or so on the t-bars....the rears you might prefer 10% stiffer shocks, unless you are also doing a lot of cargo/carrier, etc.
