after disconnecting rear sway bar, what happens?

Didn't really find what I was looking for, so here goes...
Been watching the threads about the pros/cons of removing or disconnecting the rear sway bar and a question came to mind. For those using quick disconnects, a la Calmini, what happens once you've got it undone? Does it just hang there, or does it swing down and get in harms way? It seems that, as the truck is getting banged around off road, the thing would rotate down and be in a position to cause even more damage to something.
Any input, or am I worrying about a non-issue?

Your worring about a non-issue......but its always good to clear up those worries. When I disconnect mine there is still enough friction on it that mine doesn't fall down in "harms way" when off roading. Now that has been my experience.....can't speak for others.
You should be fine.

When offroading, I tie mine up with a bungy cord to the the spare tire.

I only disconnect one side of the sway bar. That way it will not fall down, and since one side is not connected it will not limit the travel. Casper

purchased used calmini disconnects before my first off road trip, and have never used them. that was almost three years ago. took off rear sway, never put it back on. drove 100+ miles day on job and can't tell difference (have done emergency lane changes and felt safe). save some money, take off sway bar and test it out, make a decision from there.

Take it off, did not notice any changes. when you take the suports off the diff will drop about 2", if you have a locker in the rear make sure you langhten the hose for added travel, because it will pull the hose out of the diff, I thought of is right before I it droped, that was close.
