I've been running no swaybars for a couple years now. And now that my girl is driving it more on our camping trips,I had to come up with something. I'm usually entering the trail late at night to avoid all traffic. So unbolting the bushings and leaving the front swaybar bang around didn't appeal to me. I just preferred it off.
well I'll be testing my new (old modified)front swaybar. first thing I did was chop the thing in half laugh . the next thing I did was take a 10" peice of pipe, slide it over one side and welded it 5" onto one side of the swaybar. then I slide them together and drilled 2 hole on the other side equally space thorough the 5" pipe. Then one more hole for a zerk fitting in the center. I'm using two pins from an old set of rear quick disconnects.
If my welds hold and the pipe I used can handle the torsion loads, I can have the front disconnected in seconds!!
No pictures til I can find my card reader, (just moved).
